Mackie Mayor is a food-hall redeveloped from the old Smithfield Market in Manchester's Northern Quarter. There's many different vendors however the one I ordered from was Pico's Mexican.

Being completely honest, I really struggled finding gluten free options at Mackie Mayor and felt there was a real lack of labelling on all of the menus for allergen information aside from Pico's Mexican.

I don’t eat meat either so I appreciate I am harder to cater for than most gluten free girlies however nachos are always a safe bet!

With that being said, I really enjoyed the nachos here, especially with gluten free cheese sauce as usually it is thickened with flour!

Everything is ordered through a website on a QR code on each table therefore there wasn't much reassurance of cross contamination policy etc that you might get from ordering from a server, however I managed to add a note that politely asked if they could be aware of my coeliac!

Overall, Mackie Mayor itself was really nice and I loved the layout and vibe inside, however I would only recommend it for drinks not for food unfortunately! Perhaps if you went around each vendor asking if they could adapt anything to be gluten free you'd find more options, but the online ordering makes this quite difficult!
